Originating in 1863 and the second oldest choral society in New Zealand, City Choir Dunedin has played a significant role in the rich cultural life of the city. Directed by David Burchell since 2000, the choir performs to a very high standard music ranging from baroque to contemporary compositions. The Choir values performing regularly with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, as well as occasional collaborations with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Dunedin Youth Orchestra, Southern Youth Choir, Christchurch City Choir and Auckland Choral.

Our next concert is a performance of Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday 26 November in Knox Church. The companion work on the programme will be the American contemporary composer Dan Forrest’s the breath of life.
