Regular Tuesday rehearsals 7:30-9:30 pm at Mornington Presbyterian Church (MPC) are a given, unless stated otherwise.


Sales table - anyone willing to become an assistant, please let a member of the committee know.

Sat 21 Nov NZSO presents Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Dunedin Town Hall. City Choir Dunedin joins the NZSO on stage.

Sun 13 Dec tbc Christmas Concert, Dunedin Town Hall. A DSO & Dunedin City Council joint project, with City Choir Dunedin.

Score loan policy
  • Please use only a soft 2B pencil to mark up the score.
  • Clean the score with a soft eraser before returning it to the Librarian.
  • Return the score by the due date as announced.
  • If you cannot return the score on the due date, please make arrangements to return the score before the due date.
  • If you have lost or badly damaged a score you will be expected to pay for a replacement.
  • If you return your score after the due date you will be liable for a handling, packaging and postage fee of $10.

Where to get Messiah scores
Handel's Messiah is performed every second year. You can get your copy from one of the suppliers listed here: Messiah score. Note we use the Novello Watkins Shaw edition. If you have any difficulty with obtaining a score, speak to the choir's Librarian.

Would you like to use the score on your tablet? You can download a PDF of the Novello Watkins Shaw edition of Handel's Messiah suitable for use with forScore on iPad or MobileSheets on Android tablets. This PDF (23 MB) contains bookmarks for the choruses and the usual stands and sits are noted.

100 Carols for Choirs

The choir regularly performs Christmas Carols at the end of the year. Members are expected to purchase their own copies of 100 Carols for Choirs. These can be purchased online from Fishpond or SheetMusicPlusIf you have any difficulty with obtaining a score, speak to the choir's Librarian.

Formal concert dress
For women, the uniform consists of a black top and black skirt or dress trousers, or a black dress. The neckline can be any shape. Sleeves should be 3/4 length, to long. Skirts and trousers should be 3/4 length, to long. Black stockings and black shoes complete the outfit.

For men, the uniform consists of a black dinner suit, white dress shirt, black bow tie, black socks and black shoes.
