music listening site

http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/abs-favoritecantatas/lofi_play

magnatune is a site which you can visit for free. You can listen in hifi, but I find lofi is good, and uses less resources.

The link I have given you is for a CD called Bach Favorite Cantatas. I think you will find the first chorus of Cantata 140 a very catchy piece. Then Cantata 78 has a rather serious first chorus, but the next movement, the duet is rather nice.

If you look at other places on the magnatune, you will see Beethoven's 9th which will be useful if you are going to Christchurch in December.

Sounds useful. I was just going to wing it for the Beethoven (speaking of which, does anyone know if Wing has ever done Beethoven? Probably not) and learn it on the fly.

I'll have a look and see if the 9th is available at the IMSLP for free download.

OK.

Here's the IMSLP link for Beethoven's 9th.

There's a whole stack of useful stuff there (no Wing alas!):

Symphony No.9, Op.125 (Beethoven, Ludwig van)

Have fun with Ludwig, people!
