Strawberry Fare

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a chorister in possession of a good appetite, must be in want of dessert."
- with apologies to Jane Austen

A friend of mine just pointed me at the following: Strawberry Fare.

I'm new to New Zealand, and even newer to Christchurch, but it doesn't usually take me long to discover the great eateries. Apparently, this place does some wonderful desserts. Although they do the whole gamut from breakfast through mains, I'll skip the rest and go straight to the chocolate dessert :-)

I think - Beethoven aside (as if!) - this is an excellent adjunct reason for us to head north come December. An old Melbourne friend of mine once hunted the entire length and breadth of Paris for the best creme brulee available - what a shame if it could be topped just across the Tasman!

I'll step up to the plate. Literally.

I do not know if it is the same thing, but I have just ordered a pack of strawberry spinach seeds on trademe. They look nice in the picture.

Ah, yes, I remember being taken there for a late "breakfast" one day some years ago. It was excruciatingly yummy!

Sounds good. I was eyeing off the Lemon Meringue Roll, or maybe the Sticky Date Pudding.

Or maybe the Apple, Pecan and Pinenut Cake...or the Goosberry Frangipani Tart...

Hmmm...I may need a larger size of jeans afterwards! :-(

The breakfast bagels sounded good too...lemon honey - mmmmmm...

I think repeat assaults on this place may be in order! ;-)
