Ruddygore has no gore

It is going to be a beauty! This production has a wonderful and talented cast and is full of great singing and lots of laughs.

Ruddygore by Gilbert and Sullivan, presented by the Really Authentic G&S Performance Trust.

Ruddygore is a parody of old-time blood-and-thunder melodramas, set in a Cornish fishing village, with a leading character seemingly destined to fulfil the curse of his ancestors and to commit a crime "once every day, forever". How can he get rid of the curse?

It is on at the Mayfair Theatre in Dunedin, opens this Saturday with a Gala performance at 8pm ( Friends and Sponsors only ), matinee on Sunday at 2:30pm. The remaining performances on Tuesday 26 August, Wednesday 27 August, Friday 29 August and Saturday 30 August all commence at 8:00pm.

Bookings at Regent Theatre, Dunedin. There is a Student rush 30 minutes before each performance, only $15!

Read more about it at the Gilbert and Sullivan website.

Today's ODT has a great feature by Nigel Benson and suitably mad photo of Claire Barton as Mad Margaret.
